As she ran she began to think. 'Who was that and why did he attack me? I wasn't in his territory so what was that all about?' Her contemplating came to a halt as she caught sight of a very fat Pidgey pecking at the ground for seeds and worms.
Smirking she made sure to move out of its line of sight and hearing range as so not to startle her meal.
She dropped into a hunter's crouch making sure her tail was down and began to creep forward stepping lightly so she didn't give away her position, once she was a couple of paw-steps away from the bird she pounced.
The poor thing was caught totally unawares but it was to late.
Kunoa had hooked her claws through its feathers and into its flesh and with a quick nip to the neck the life drained from the bird's eyes.
"Thank you for giving your life Pidgey may the stars light your path."
She picked up the bird in her jaws the body was still warm but then she remembers the kindling she'd lost so she set down the fresh-kill and collected a small bundle of sticks which she carried in her saddlebag.
Picking up the Pidgey again and being careful not to puncture the dead avian anymore then it already was with her fangs she set off back towards the den she shared with Dhoruba.
It wasn't long before she had made her way back and climbed down the den's tunnel entrance.
She set the fresh-kill down and unloaded her saddlebag. "Hey Dhoruba, I'm back!"
Upon hearing his name the electric lion entered from his herb storage, while Kunoa had been out he was sorting through his inventory making sure none of the needed herbs had gone bad.
He walks to where Kunoa's voice was coming from and saw the black pawed normal type placing the kindling In its storage space. He then noticed the Pidgey. "You brought back fresh-kill?"
She looks up from her storing with a grin. "yep! Wanna share? I'm pretty sure I won't be able to finish it by myself it's really big."
"Sure if you don't mind."
She waved him over with her tail and after quickly giving grace they both dug in to the plump bird trying their best to avoid the feathers.
Before long both had gone to their nests said their Goodnights and fell asleep.
But one did not sleep.
Dhoruba was wide awake and thinking about the time he's spent getting to know Kunoa she was a very kind hearted and brave pokémon and she had been doing all she could to help out around the den and bringing back prey...He then remembered that she said she 'Owed him one' so she was paying him back for saving her life.
That's it his mind was made up he'd tell her tomorrow....
